Paprika Rice

January 14, 2019

Happy New Year once again! I pray this year is filled with joy for you and your loved ones In Jesus name.

I'd love to teach you how to make a special spicy delicacy to help you spice the new season. I know you must have heard of fried rice, coconut rice, jollof rice (bar), But not paprika rice.

I saw picture somewhere with the name "paprika rice" and my reaction went like this; "which one be this again?" (what's this again). Well I made a research on it and found out that it's just rice spiced with smoked paprika pepper which is our own tatase. Oh you want me to beautify the name a bit so you don't get to fall off your chair, OK I'll do that for you, it's "red bell pepper". So let me make this more funny and simple;
"Today's recipe is tatase rice!"

Now that we are on the same page we can now talk about the recipe.
If you're thinking of trying a new recipe the Paprika rice is one healthy meal you don't want to miss in this new year. The paprika helps to improve our metabolism and aid digestion. And you can also add any veggies of your choice to this meal either carrot, cabbage or green peas will do fine.

If you carefully prepare this meal  you'd be doing your body more good than harm.
Let's start cooking!

• 11/2 cup rice
• 1 medium onion, finely chopped
• 11/2 teaspoon paprika spice
• salt and seasoning cubes to taste
• vegetable stock, 2 cooking spoons
• other spices (garlic, ginger, coriander etc)
• fresh paprika, finely chopped (to garnish)
• veggies (carrot, green peas etc)
• 2 tablespoon vegetable oil
• water to cook

1. Add water (enough to cook the rice), vegetable stock, onions, salt and seasoning cubes, spices and the paprika spice. Let the rice cook until soft

2. When the rice is almost cooked add the veggies and chopped paprika.

3. Stir the rice well when cooked to allow the veggies and chopped paprika to go round the rice.

Enjoy your Paprika rice!

I hope you liked the recipe. Please don't forget to give it a thumbs up, share on social media and comment. Oh please comment, your comments I really love to hear from you
